The SmartFabric Address layer is the main input source for constructing our geocoding data, and as such there is a close relationship between SmartFabric and Geocoding precision codes.
Note
that Geocoding also makes use of street networks, street alias names and other boundary layers, so can recognize and assign locations to addresses that do not appear in the SmartFabric high-precision Address layer. Such addresses will often have lower precision codes such as street interpolated or centroid of a neighborhood boundary.
The table below shows how precision codes in SmartFabric are translated into precision codes in Geocoding.
SmartFabric Precision | Geocoding Precision | Description |
---|---|---|
BIP | 10 | Building interior point |
BC | 10 | Building centroid |
BGC | 15 | Centroid of a group of buildings |
PC | 20 | Parcel centroid |
PIP | 21 | Inside parcel |
ADDR | 30 | Outside parcel |
STR | 50 | Street segment and range interpolation |
STRX | 55 | Street segment and range extrapolation |
UND | 30 | Undefined point level coordinates |
