To view a map location based upon where LightBox Vision is being accessed on a computer or tablet, an icon is now available on the map which can be selected with a prompt provided to allow for geolocation access. This option is useful for clients who need to use LightBox Vision out on the field while they are evaluating areas of interest.
Icon Location & Instructions
On the bottom right of the map near the + - icons for zooming in and out, there will be a target icon for selection. When this is chosen, a message will request browser location access and “Allow” must be selected to enable this. Once permission is given, the map will center itself to a view that looks over the user’s current location where their device is logged in to LightBox Vision.
Note: Choosing “Block” will not provide this permission and a prompt will appear to suggest the browser settings must be adjusted to allow access (read further below for steps to enable location based upon browser being utilized).
Adjust Chrome Browser Settings to Allow Locate Access
Go to More from the top right of Chrome (ALT + E)
Choose Settings > Privacy & Security > Site Settings > Location
Toggle on “Sites can ask for your location” and enable it for the site asking for permission (should look similar to the below URL):
Adjust Edge Browser Settings to Allow Locate Access
Go to Options (ALT + F)
Choose Settings > Cookies and Site Permissions > Scroll down to Location (Under All Permissions)
Toggle on “Ask before accessing” and allow website access
Adjust Firefox Browser Settings to Allow Locate Access
Go to the Options icon in the top right (3 horizontal lines)
Choose Settings > Privacy & Security > Scroll down to Permissions and choose “Settings” next to Location
Select Allow next to the site link (should look similar to the below URL)
Adjust Safari Browser Settings to Allow Locate Access
Go to Apple menu > System Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services
Turn on Location Services (this may require entering password and selecting the unlocking icon)
Enable the Location Service by toggling it on next to the website asking for permission (should look similar to the below URL)
