This was a side topic to this meeting hosted by the product owners:
Note:
KML & KMZ files are mostly created in Google Earth; desktop free version is no longer supported.
Example of what it looks like when logging in for the first time:
How to Draw a Polygon
Select the polygon icon.
A “Google Earth - New Polygon” window will appear.
Click various points around the target area and a white fill will form into the area needed.
The Style and Color of the Outline and Area can be edited and there is n option to name the polygon if desired.
How to Email the Saved Polygon
Once polygon is saved it will appear on the “Places” list on left hand side:
Right-click the file you want to send and select “Email”.
Potential issue with KMZ/KML Files
Google Earth also allows the ability to create “Paths”.
Paths are the continuous series of positions or configurations that can be assumed in any motion or process of change by a moving or varying system.
Users have the ability to create a path which can create a similar polygon shape.
There is also a chance a client may accidentally save multiple polygons in the same KML File.
Radius map does not support this method of searching multiple polygons.
