PO Boxes
Q: Does the Geocoding API set-up to standardize PO Boxes?
A: No we do not standardize PO Boxes.
Q: Does the Geocoder API validate if a PO Box exists?
A: The geocoder does not validate the PO Box - if someone provides us a PO Box that does not exist, for example "PO BOX 10000000, Irvine CA", the geocoder will not tell whether that box is valid or invalid according to USPS.
Q: What is the coordinate precision that is returned for a PO Box?
A: The best that the geocoder can do for a location is to return a ZIP Code accuracy x/y for the location - e.g. if someone geocodes PO Box 3, Troy NY 12180 we will return back the location for 12180.
Q: How many decimal places do you carry for a geocode address response coordinate
A: The coordinates for our geocoder are rounded to 6 decimal places. Which is an 11.1cm accuracy.
Q: Do we have Delivery Point Validation (DPV) from USGS in our geocode response?
A: At this time we do not carry Delivery Point Validation (DPV) on our geocode response object
