    Article summary

The "Metropolitan and Micropolitan Statistical Areas of the United States and Puerto Rico” wall map shows metropolitan and micropolitan statistical areas (collectively referred to as core based statistical areas (CBSAs)), metropolitan divisions, and their component counties. The LightBox CBSA boundary API can help round out your mapping solution. The CBSA API supports autocomplete, return a record by ID and the tile and bounding box endpoint.

If your application needs type ahead for CBSA or access to the underlying geometries for use in your analysis the LightBox CBSA API will support your needs.

    Features

    • Type ahead or autocomplete
    • Tile / Bounding Box requests so that you can add these layers to your favorite map control
    • Return a record using a ID
    • Response contains the polygon represented as a WKT which can be used as client side objects
    WKT Geometries
If the feature geometry exceeds 2000 vertices then the result WKT is represented as a 5 point bounding box WKT polygon. This is by design to limit very large polygons to be delivered to the client and slowing down the user experience.
